Obituary for Helen Ailsa Scobie (Murdock)

Helen Ailsa Scobie (Murdock)
Scobie, Helen Ailsa (nee Murdock)
Peacefully at Dufferin Oaks on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of Reg Scobie (2000). Dear mother of Brent and his wife Peggy. Predeceased by her children Mark and Ian. Cherished grandmother of Erica and Curtis. Remembered by her sisters Nadine Chittim, Doris Deleff and Bev Akagi. Predeceased by her brother Max. Helen will be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends.
Helen led a long and full life. Some of her passions were: playing bridge, Scottish Country dancing, knitting, baking (amazing peanut butter cookies and the best apple pie around) and watching the Toronto Blue Jays. Helen had a warm caring heart, she loved to laugh, shop and provide for her grandchildren. Weekly hair appointments were never missed and she enjoyed collecting Hummels and driving fine cars.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lord Dufferin Centre, as well as the staff at Dufferin Oaks. Special thanks to all of Helen's private caregivers. You all went above and beyond with your kindness and caring.

Memorial Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Memorial donations to Parkinson's Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Helen in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
