Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Ellstrom can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

October 3, 1946 - April 6, 2016
Son of Herman Allan Ellström and Mary Christina (Curry) - both predeceased.
Loving husband of Barbara (Pawlak) for 45 years and proud father of Jarl and Brandon.
Dear brother of Velma Belan (Peter), Carole Dubois (Sam) both predeceased, and Donna Wallgren (Bob predeceased).
John will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Born and raised in Sudbury John graduated from Sheridan Technical School.
After a few years at INCO John moved to Orangeville Ontario to marry Barbara, an elementary school teacher.
John fit right in as school caretaker. After 28 years of service he retired as head custodian of Princess Elizabeth Public School.
Each summer John was in his element at his sisters’ remote camp on Katodawa Lake near Gogama.
How he, his family and dogs all loved the ruggedness and solitude of the bush!
In retirement John continued his love of driving and exploring back roads.
As a member of the Dufferin - Northern Peel Anglers’ and Hunters’ Association, target shooting was a favourite pastime.
A donation to Headwaters Health Care Centre or the SPCA or Ontario Nature would be appreciated by his family.
Funeral Service will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre 21 First Street Orangeville, Ontario on Wednesday, April 13th, 2016 at 4:30 pm. Visitation will begin at 3:30 pm.

A tree will be planted in memory of John in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
