The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Wesley Robertson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Pipeband pals

I got to know Wes playing with him in Sandhill Pipes and Drums for the seven years I have been with the band. After every practice we talk over a beverage (Wes' drink of choice being Root beer!), and I spent many of those occasions talking to Wes. Wes and I have much in common: we love music, politics, teaching, our faith and most notably, our wives and children. Recently, Wes and I were exploring the option of travelling to Scotland to play with the Canada Pipes and Drums band. The practices for that band are up in Orillia so we would carpool together to the practices we attended. I very much enjoyed the practices up in Orillia, but I think I enjoyed the conversation on the way up to Orillia with Wes even more. Wes is a terrific listener, who shows a great interest in everybody he meets. There are so many things I will miss and remember about this friend of mine, but there is something he told me that I think I will remember the most. After my daughter was born he asked me how things were going as a father. Then he told me how when his daughters were at home he would thank God for having them in his life every night after they went to sleep, no matter what. I can think of no better way for me to pay tribute to my friend than to do the same. Wes you are a truly gifted musician and teacher, a true man of faith but most of all you are a fantastic father, husband and friend. We all miss you dearly.

Your friend,

Trevor
