Lucas, Joan (Fiddler)
Peacefully at Caressant Care, Fergus on Monday, December 12, 2016 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of Robert Lucas (2016). Loving mother of Sharon Shipston (Andy) and Doug (Colleen). Cherished grandmother of Rob Cameron and Mike Cameron. Missed by her sister Anne Urbanski (Frank) and her brothers Jim Fiddler (Janet 2016) and Ron Fiddler (Lois). Much loved aunt, great-aunt to her nieces & nephews. Will be missed by her sisters-in-law Betty Eason (Paul), Jackie Rogers (John-deceased), Nancy Dorak (Werner), brothers-in-law the late Bill Lucas and other relatives and many friends. For someone so quiet and unassuming she showed strength and courage this past year. Her love for family, hockey, Elvis and Doug Gilmour will be remembered.
A Celebration of Joan's life will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Joan in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
