He loved to garden, tinker, build and fix things. He was always busy; there were never enough hours in the day. He could tell a great story and was the subject of a few as well. He was patient, strong and would do anything for his family. He will be forever missed.
At Southlake Hospital, Newmarket, on Wednesday, October 30th, 2013, from complications due to pneumonia, Fred Ford of Caledon, in his 80th year, passed away peacefully. He was the beloved husband of Dollie Ford for 57 years, loving father of Fred Jr. of Cheltenham, Jeff Ford of Oakville, and Lindsay Ford-Zanth of Georgetown and the late twins Deirdre and Desiree. Wonderful father-in-law to Guy Zanth, Kelly Jennings, and Sue Buckley. Cherished and deeply loved Buppa of Hailey and Jake Zanth, Kate and Erin Ford, and Sophie, Fred, and Madelyn Ford. Dear son of the late Lionel Ford and Irene Ford. Dear brother of Audrey Morris, and the late Mary Yearly, William Ford, Lorne Ford and Cecil Ford. Dear brother-in-law of Ann Ford, Joan Ford, Gwen Kidd and the late Janet LaPier, George Morris and Kent Yearly. Fondly remembered by his nephews and nieces. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of Southlake Hospital in Newmarket as well as Dr. Ponke, Diane and Amy in Caledon for all the loving care given to Fred.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Dods & McNair Funeral Home & Chapel in Orangeville.

A tree will be planted in memory of Fred in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 14th, 2014 at 2:30 p.m.
