Marita always had a lovely smile for everyone she met. She loved her time working as a volunteer at Headwaters, and it was always nice to see her here and have a visit with her. She had such a gentle nature and was so kind with everyone she met. I will miss her.

Passing Marita in the hallway at Headwaters, or on the street in town was the highlight of my day. She was so giving and pleasant. She always offered kind words, and support to myself and my husband. A fond memory of her kindness comes from a story my husband shared: He was taking a walk Christmas Day to St. Marks to check in on the Christmas dinner they serve each year. He wasn't in need of food, but was alone as I was working. Marita met him outside the door and asked if he needed help or a meal, even though the meal was over and clean up had been completed. He replied he was just here to see the success of the meal and reminisce about times his own mother would help out at St. Marks. They walked away together and Marita offered her Christmas dinner to him several times, which he declined not being in need. Even after serving her community she was willing to given her meal away to the first person she thought might have a need. She was a beautiful person. Our sincerest condolences to Marita's family and friends.

Another Angel to watch over us❤️ I was fortunate to get to know Marita last year while I was looking after my mom, Elsie. She and Marita were dear friends and and we were both the recipients of her gentle, caring nature, her strong faith and that squeeze of your hand to let you know “ she truly cared”. What an amazing woman who touched so many peoples lives. Kathy Clark
