Hay Harvest

We had for many years had dairy farms beside each other and one of the common chores was harvesting hay in the summer. We milked 50 cows and Andy milked 100 cows. At the time the common practice was to stuke all the bales and then pick them up with wagons once the hay was dried. When we were done our hay we would once in a while help the Pott's get their thousands of bales off the field. Andy was always quick and efficient driving the MF construction tractor with the stuke loader with ease. In no time wagons would be built and off to the barn they would go. Often in a train of 3 wagons/tractor and up to eight in a line going down the fifth. In the midst of the sun and heat sweat would pour from your body. Nancy was always ready to feed us water and treats to keep us going. Eric and Arnold worked hard and many hours and working together as neighbours was always a good memory. Oh the years go to quickly.
