John is almost exactly a year older than I, so he was the big cousin I couldnt wait to see. In my eyes he was something special and a bit of an idol of mine. I remember one particular time when I was about 10 and Dad and I were visiting, John asked me to come ice fishing on Nippissing with a friend of his and I was beside myself with glee. I spent what seemed like an eternity on the ice basking in the glory of this moment. We caught one ugly ling that John had no problem grabbing and unhooking while I watched with a very disgusted look on my face. To this day I wont touch one but always think of John and that moment whenever I see one of them.
