Obituary for James Gracie Fleming

Fleming, James (Jim) Gracie
Passed away at home on Thursday, August 25, 2016 in his 78th year. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on June 17, 1938 and immigrated to Canada in 1960. Jim was the son of the late James (Jim) Gracie Fleming, Oct 2, 1913 - May 12, 2001 and Marion Fleming (Hollis), May 3, 1915 - July 25, 1997. A loving brother to Helen Gracie Gould and brother-in-law Bill Gould (Newfoundland). Father to 2 sons, Douglas (Maggie) and Jason (Aneta) Fleming (Niagara Falls) and a proud grandfather. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces Dawn Kelly (Kevin) Amanda Mitchell (Ryan) and nephew Paul Curtis (Laura); great nieces and nephews.

Jim was an avid volunteer and loved working with people and always had a great story to tell. He was a past president of the Orangeville Rotary Club, a former member of the Orangeville Hospital Board and Legion. He will be missed by his many friends at the Summer Place Park.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 233 Orangeville.

A tree will be planted in memory of Jim in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
