Obituary for Duncan Robert Neil McDougall

Duncan Robert Neil McDougall
McDougall, Duncan Robert Neil
Peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018, in his 72nd year, with his daughter by his side. A loving father to Megan (Michael) and Scott (Samantha). He was also a doting grandfather to Mateo, Marin, Ben and James. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents, Laura and Duncan Sr. He will be missed by his sisters, Heather (Brian), Diane (Ed) and Susan (Rob) and his many nieces and nephews. There wasn't anything he wouldn’t do for his family. He had a close group of friends which he enjoyed many golfing trips with. He was an avid curler and still enjoyed taking part in organizing tournaments at the Unionville Curling Club. Thanks to his many neighbours in Orangeville, where he lived the last two years with his daughter and her family, who were always up for a little conversation while passing by the house. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville for their exceptional efforts in keeping Dad comfortable during his time there. At Duncan’s request, no funeral service will be held.
A celebration of life reception will be held at Dods and McNair Funeral Home, Chapel and Reception Centre, 21 First Street, Orangeville, ON L9W 2C8 on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
A tree will be planted in memory of Duncan in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
