Friendship

Met Joy when my youngest was 5, so I would say 27 years ago. We were guiders together for the same Brownie Pack and later on for the girl guides. We worked well together, our girls being the same ages. We enjoyed our time with the girls and later on Theresa Leclerc joined us as a guider and a dear friend. Joy also completed her university studies even though she worked full time at Sensenbrenner Hospital, raised her daughters, and also led a very active life with the guiding movement. Joy was my rock 17 years ago when I lost first my father, then a year and a half later, my mother, she was there for me. In 2008, I moved to Manitoulin Island, where Joy's parents had a cottage, not too far from where I now live. After my move, I had lost contact with Joy and it was with great happiness that we had re-connected last fall on Manitoulin, we enjoyed each other's company very much. Unfortunately, we lost a dear friend in early Jan and we both travelled to Kapuskasing to say our goodbyes and had made plans to spend time on Manitoulin this summer, Joy, I will miss you so much my friend, fly with the angels.
