Beverley Myrtle Hillis (Hillis)
Hillis, Beverley Myrtle
April 2, 1937 - February 9, 2017
Orangeville, ON Orangeville, ON
It is with great Sadness our beloved Mom and Nana passed away peacefully at the Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville on Thursday, February 9, 2017, in her 80th year.
Cherished mother of Sherri Beverley Jack-Pickard (Peter) of Wales U.K., Bonni Sue Ryder (Eric Candelario) of Orangeville, Raymond Howard Jack (Elizabeth) of Orillia.
Beloved Nana of grandchildren Whitney Marischuk (Steven) of Newmarket, Brooke Curtis (Jason Pierce) of Toronto, Travis Ryder (Bridget) of Mississippi U.S., Hudson Ryder of Orangeville, Jim Jack and Ben Jack of Orillia. There was never any grandma who was ever so proud of all her grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents Hiram and Myrtle Hillis, her sister Audrey LeFeuvre, and brother Murray Hillis.
She will be missed by her many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
Mom was, first and foremost, a wonderful mother. She was a graduate of Orangeville District Secondary School and an astute business woman. Bev was co-owner of Howard Fuels Shell Distribution Centre in Orillia, Secretary to the Administrator of Ina Grafton Gage Seniors Home in Toronto, also founded, owned, and operated Beverley’s Care For You Tours out of Toronto.
We would like to thank with all our hearts, the wonderful and caring staff at Avalon Care Centre. Mom always felt so blessed to be there, especially the wonderful nurses, PSWs, Dietary Department, and Mitch from Life Enrichment who always got Bev exercising (LOL).
We also express a special thank you from Sherri, Bonni, and Ray for the Kind and Compassionate Care at Headwaters Hospital that Mom received and the guidance that we received, and a special thank you to Dr. Joshi.
For those who wish, a Memorial Gift donation would be appreciated to the Community of Christ Church in Grand Valley and/or the Headwaters Health Care Foundation.
Mom is now on a Heavenly Tour.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Saturday, February 11th, 2017 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Sunday, February 12th, 2017 at 1:30 pm.
