Loving wife of Dan passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in Shelburne surrounded by her devoted family and comforted by the caring Dufferin Oaks staff. In her 86th year, Leona was born at home in Albion Township on November 6, 1930. As a long-time resident of Caledon, Leona was an active and beloved member of the Caledon Townhall Players.

Predeceased by her parents, Margaret and William; and by her sisters Teresa, Celine, and Mary; Leona is remembered by Dan, her husband of more than 65 years; her children, Judith (John), David, Michael (Rosanne), and Patricia (Michael); and her 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family can share remembrance of Leona with a visitation at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Cornelius Roman Catholic Church, 16631 Kennedy Rd., Caledon (Silver Creek) on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. All are invited after to a reception at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home.

The family would appreciate memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Dods & McNair will be planting a tree in Leona’s memory in their Memorial Forest at Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The tree will be dedicated on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2:30 p.m.
