Diane Elizabeth Janisse (Kingdon)
Janisse, Diane Elizabeth
Surrounded by her family in prayer at Bethell Hospice, Inglewood on Monday June 13, 2016 at the age of 73. In the fiftieth year of marriage to her husband Michael. Dear mother of Ken (Jan), Gregory (Julie) and Darren (Stephanie). Cherished Amma of Emily, Lauren, Isla, Madilyn and Edmond. Remembered by her sister Nancy (Grant) and brother Jim (Peggy). Predeceased by her brother Peter (2004). Diane will also be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Sincere and grateful appreciation to the physicians, nurses and PSW’s who cared for Diane at the Stronach Regional Cancer Care Centre in Newmarket, Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, wings D and E and for the spiritual care given by the chaplains at the hospital. Fond admiration to the nurses at St. Elizabeth Health Care who came for home visits and to the nurses and staff of Bethell Hospice in Inglewood for their gentle care of Diane during her last weeks with us.
Special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Derksen for his care of Diane throughout her illness and to her final day.
Diane was a respected teacher at both St. Peter and St. Andrew schools. She gave unselfishly of herself and had a great love of children. On numerous occasions Diane would be acknowledged and thanked by young adults whom she had taught in kindergarten or grade two.
Diane and her husband volunteered for twenty-two years with a peer ministry called Retrouvaille. They along with others spent countless weekends giving married couples the tools to rebuild their failed marriages.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 42 Dawson Rd., Orangeville on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Orangeville.
