The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Shirley Walinck can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

A long journey has ended peacefully on June 1st at Bethell House, Inglewood in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Charles and her sisters Gladys and Ruby. Loving mother of Sandra MacAvelia and John Walinck (Jan). Treasured grandmother of Chad (Niki), Kenny (Heather), Sandy (Kim), Thomas (Amy) and great-grandmother of Rhese, Owen, Trevor, Elissa, Willow, Zoey and Colton.

Arrangements entrusted to Dods & McNair Funeral, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville.

The family gives special thanks to everyone at Bethell House for the loving care and compassion they provided Shirley with in her final journey.
As per Mom’s wishes she will be cremated and laid to rest with Dad at a private service.
She will be forever loved and never forgotten by her family and friends.

Donations may be made in Shirley’s memory to Bethell House or Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind.

A tree will be planted in memory of Shirley in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
