Thank You for the Memories

I still remember the first time we met.  You and Dad came to my house for tea and I remember feeling anxious until you came to the door as it felt like I already knew you.  When I saw how much tea you could drink, I knew we would hit it off:-)

Leading up to our first visit, Dad told me he was already in love and that you were "the one".  He was always excited for the weekends since that is when you saw you each other before you moved in together and got married.

It wasn't too long after meeting you, that your wedding day was set, November 30, 2008.  That day was a happy day for everyone and you and Dad had nothing but smiles the whole time.  You looked very pretty that day and Dad looked so handsome.

I always looked forward to visiting with you and Dad.  We could chat about anything and you were never afraid to offer your advice which I always appreciated.  You welcomed both Jason and I with open arms as if we were your children, which I know that is how you felt.  That has always been special to me.

You also took great care for the doggies that Dad already had, along with making the great addition of Tilly who was your pride and joy.  Don't worry about her as she will be well taken care of.  She will also take good care of Dad.

I remember having Todd over for the first time after golfing one year and you made him feel right at home.  This was before we were officially dating, but I think both you and Dad knew there was something there and he was here stay:-)  Thank you for helping welcoming him to our family.

You were so nurturing, making sure everyone was taken care of, even during your illness.  I remember that phone call, when you and Dad let us know you were sick.  Right from that moment, you faced this head on with courage, strength and humour.  You protected us from the emotional and physical pain you were going through which was just who you were.  You didn't want people to worry.  You have no idea how much I admired you for this and I know I am not the only one.

I just want to thank you for being in our lives and making my dad so happy.  As tough as it is for all of us that you are no longer here, we know you are with us in spirit and now at peace.  The happy memories we have of you will help us get through our grief.  Thank you for choosing to be in our lives, we will miss you and will never forget you.

Love always xo

Shelley
