Obituary for Joan Alice Grosse (Grosse)

Joan Alice Grosse (Grosse)
Grosse, Joan Alice (nee Grosse)
On Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the age of 87.
Joan was born in Toronto on March 11, 1928, as the only sister to Eric (deceased
2013), Jack and Roy. She was a wonderful Aunt to David, Wayne, Sue, Jan, Neil
and Jim, and Great Aunt to Jim, Michael, Ryan, Greg, Gillian, Jason and Jesse.
Joan’s Christian values and beliefs were exemplified in her life through her love
for helping others. Because of this she is “Auntie Joan” to several other people
across Canada with whom she has shared her love and time.
Many of her summers were spent at her trailer at Muskoka Baptist Conference
(now Muskoka Bible Centre). There she often had overnight guests who would
stay for as little as a night or two, or sometimes even for weeks at a time.
She loved to travel and was fortunate enough to have visited various parts of
Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Egypt, the United States as well as
Canada.
Joan will always be remembered as one who always did her best, laughed a lot
and always had a song, poem or saying for any occasion or situation. However,
her greatest joy was found in helping others.
We rejoice with her in knowing that she has now seen her Saviour’s face and is
enjoying all that heaven has to offer.

Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Monday, November 16, 2015 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 2:30 pm. Interment- Glendale Cemetery, Etobicoke. Memorial donations to Matthews House Hospice would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Joan in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
