Ritch (Corbett) Jean Catherine age 96 died quietly in Orangeville, September 17, 2015. She was the daughter of Wellington and Edith Corbett.
She was the loving wife and best friend of William (Bill) James Ritch for 68 years. She was the proud mother of Murray (Lorabeth), Halifax, Barry (Nina), Kitchener and Wendy Sheedy (Mark), Orangeville. She was a special Grammy to Stuart, Halifax, Megan and Collin, Kitchener and Kaitlyn, Courtney and Cameron, Orangeville.
Mom���?�s greatest singular joy was their children and grandchildren who brought her much joy and pride.
The many years spent in Midland camping and at the cottage were truly special times.
Mom, along with Dad, was proud to be involved in the founding of the Swansea Girls Hockey League at Rennie Park in Swansea in 1970. It is now the largest girls���?� outdoor hockey league in the City of Toronto.
Mom made our lives special and will always be in the hearts of her family and her friends.
A celebration of Jean���?�s life will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First Street, Orangeville, Ontario on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 with Visitation starting at 1:30pm and Service at 2:30pm.
Family flowers only. Donations can be made in Jean���?�s name to the Swansea Girls Hockey League, P.O. Box 84680, 2336 Bloor St. West, Toronto, Ontario M6S 1P3.
A tree will be planted in memory of Jean in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2:30 p.m.
