We met Art and his lovely wife, Monique over 35 years ago.  Our sons, who were both 5 years old at that time, were going to Toronto French School and both the centre of our young lives. Almost every few days, we either would go out together, our son would be at their place, or vice versa. We would even go on family vacations together, or take the time to have the two boys in one place at the same time.

Obviously, it was spontaneous friendship among us all in the families.

Art had quiet disposition, even-tempered, humble, with a quick sense of humor, and just a wonderful human being.

Just an example of how kind and helpful he was:  

When we mentioned  to them that we were in the process of moving to another home, he and Monique surprised us by sending a truck, enough to put everything from our home in it. That was a moment that we would never forget.

As for his sense of humor: 

For over 30 years, our “Gourmet Club” would get together at least once a month. The ladies would always go out of their way to cook and show-off their chef abilities, while the men would act as the best assistant ever. One day, we started talking about how our wives worked so hard- at home, at work, and still had amazing energies with stamina and ambitions. The men all agreed and out of the blue Art said: “And we, men, are the wimpy ones! “

Over the years, our families shared the ups and downs of daily lives, able to cry and laugh at it, yet have fun and spent precious times with our friends. 

We will all miss Art. Our hearts go out to Monique, Chris and everyone in their family during this difficult loss. May he Rest in Peace.
