Fun and laughter

'And we're going to the Barn Dance tonight'. I loved when Uncle Bobby sang his song. I remember being very young and falling asleep to everyone having a party and Uncle Bobby singing this with everyone joining in. As I grew up and joined those parties I joined in myself as I knew every word. Last night in bed I started to sing this to myself. It made me smile amongst the tears. Another great memory is when my son Ben was about 2 and he was so full if energy I was exhausted. Aunt Rita and Uncle Bobby were visiting me. For whatever reason (I now know he probably saw how tired I was) he lifted Ben and took him to the park. An hour later he returned with Ben fast asleep. I asked him how he managed that and he said I told him to run and keep running. A new regime for me and Ben had began. I still use that wee technique in my teaching, I take kids who are full of energy and mischief outside and tell them to run and every time I do this I think of my Uncle Bobby and I always will. The only difference will be that for a while it will bring a few tears. Keep the Canadian rye on ice for the rest if us Uncle Bobby. Love x
