Obituary for Barbara Louise Gibson (Wheelwright)
Barbara Louise Wheelwright Gibson died on March 22, 2015 at Woodhall Park Retirement Village in Brampton, Ontario after a brief illness. She was 92.
Barbara will be remembered with much love by her children Peter and his wife Catherine Lynch, David and his husband Rich Kiamco, and Jonathan and his wife Peggy Thomson. She was the cherished grandmother of Benjamin and his fiancé Chanda, Kat, Thomas and Elspeth. She is also survived by her brother John Wheelwright and his wife Isobel and a host of nieces and nephews.
Barbara was born in Montreal on August 16, 1922 and grew up in Toronto. She and her husband Douglas raised their family in Montreal and spent glorious summers in Georgeville, Quebec.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home & Chapel, 21 First St., Orangeville on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 5 First Avenue, Orangeville on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's honor can be made to World Vision Canada.
A tree will be planted in memory of Barbara in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 2:30 p.m.
