Obituary for William John Cox

Cox, William John (Dec. 17, 1958 – July 5, 2022)
William passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at the age of 63 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre. Beloved brother of Mary Elizabeth Cox and loving cousin of Barbara Bate, William was predeceased by his mother and father John Albert Cox and Barbara Rosemary (Wadams) Cox.
William and Mary both came to Canada in 2008. Back in England, from the Lenches Evesham, Worcestershire, William was recognized as the top breeder of Holstein pedigree cows and even held the honour for Top Holstein in milk production showing the top producing cow in the country. William will be missed by many in Ontario who came to love him since coming to Canada. In 2014 Mary and William moved to Hillsburgh, Ontario and ran a beautiful farm together where he bred and raised horses for both pleasure riding and for the racing industry.
William will be dearly missed by so many of the current and past Boarders at their farm. Everyone knew he was always in search of a good cup of tea made just so with two milk and two sugar. In addition to the love of his horses William enjoyed debating current politics and had a huge interest in sports in general including cricket, horse racing, soccer (football) and baseball and was a supporter of Leeds United when the opportunity arose. Special thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Headwaters Health Care Centre (especially Beth & Lauren) and also to those caregivers at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or Groves Memorial Community Hospital (https://www.gmch.ca) or a charity of your choosing would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

A Celebration if Life will be held at Mary and William's farm on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 1:00 till 3:00 p.m.

A tree will be planted in memory of William in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 20th Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
