Obituary for Wilfred Ferdinand Vogtlaender

Wilfried Ferdinand Vogtlaender
April 27, 2020
Passed away quickly and quietly. Loving son of Elfriede and August; loving brother to sisters Herta, Brigitte and Leannah; father of Bernie, Jurgen, Edwin and Barb. Wilfried lead a full life of many adventures and experiences. Drafted as a teen he severed a short call of duty as a Paratrooper. Later met his wife and had 4 children. He worked in coal mines and later became a superior top welder in his trade. His imagination and talent also crafted many gems from candelabras, light poles to tables in his spare time. His love of country life brought his family to dairy farming which later helped him develop a passion for auto mechanics. With his endurance, he battled and survived many challenges including cancer (he won). He was a jokester, liked to laugh and was easy going. Almost always smiling, he had the attitude of not letting things get you down and never held a grudge. His motto was “Oh well, what can you do....just move on”. He enjoyed conversation and telling stories. He was described as someone with a big heart and this easy fun going nature was loved and will be missed by his care workers. He will be missed by all who met him. This personality has taught us a lot on how to slow down and take it easy, a lesson we can all benefit from. Thank you dad.
I am at peace, my Soul’s at rest
There is no need for tears,
For with your love I was blessed
For all those many years.
