Obituary for Wayne Frederick Alexander

Wayne Frederick Alexander of Mono, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023 at the age of 75, at the Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville.
Beloved husband of Mary (nee Lippert) for over 51 years. Devoted father of Mike (Michelle) and Matt (Alicia) both of Oakville, and doting Grandpa to Declan, Trent and Wade.

Wayne will be sadly missed by sister Dianne Dickson of Owen Sound, sister-in-laws Donna of Port Lambton, Corliss and Florence, both of Hanover, Fran (Lothar) of Penetang, Yvonne of Woodstock, Dianne Lippert of Kitchener, brother-in laws Rodney (Elaine) of Teeswater, Carman (Gail) of Walkerton.
Wayne will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends & neighbours.

Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Edith Alexander, brothers Bev, Larry and Jim, parents-in-law Frank and Florence Lippert, brothers-in-laws Dave Ernest, Dave Lippert, Doug Lippert and Nelson Mortimer.

Wayne was born in Durham Ontario and was raised on the family farm in Bentinck Township.  He was very athletic during high school, playing on numerous team sports. In his early 20’s he earned his black belt in karate, winning many trophies and teaching youth.

Wayne pursued a career in mechanical design, working with several firms before becoming a partner in Automated Systems, and later running his own design business.

Wayne was a master of design, creating many beautiful pieces of furniture and was renown for his fabulous and inventive Hallowe’en costumes !!
In retirement, he & Mary enjoyed travelling, a good game of golf, ‘porching’ with his buddies, attending hockey and soccer games watching his boys & grandkids. AND watching his beloved Maple Leafs not win the Stanley Cup again this year !

The family wish to thank the doctors and nursing staff of Headwaters for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Life will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre 21 First Street Orangeville on Saturday June 3, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with Words of Remembrance commencing at 3 o’clock. (Casual Attire Please)

A tree will be planted in memory of Wayne in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 21st Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
