Gone home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday October 30th, 2022 at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late Pastor Art Welwood (1999). Dear mother of Anne Welwood, Danny (Wendy), Stephen (Pat) and Philip. Cherished grandmother of Michael (Alexandra), Matthew (Chenxin), Melanie (Adam), Chad (Natalie), Michael (April), Morgan (Orion), Matthew (Jodi-Kay), Burgundy (Ben), Krista (Zach), Madison (Stefan). Dearest great-grandmother of 17. Predeceased by her sisters Reita, Hazel and Zena. Remembered by her sister-in-law Edith Nurse. Verda will also be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home & Chapel & Reception Centre 21 First on Saturday November 5th, 2022 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Memorial donations to World Vision or Samaritans Purse Canada would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Verda in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 21st Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
