Obituary for Trisha Diane Hamilton (VanderByl)

Trisha Diane Hamilton
July 29, 1967- August 25, 2022
There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others. Trisha Diane Hamilton was beautiful and made life beautiful for all those who she encountered. It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of Trisha, aged 55, on August 25, 2022 in Orangeville, Ontario. Trisha passed away peacefully in her home, while surrounded by her family, after a heroic battle against cancer.
Incredibly loving wife of Patrick Hamilton for over 29 years. Loving mother of Connor and Charlie. Much loved daughter of Ben (deceased) and Pam Vanderbyl. Cherished sister of Darren (Lisa) and Brandon (Angela). Adored daughter-in-law of Richard (deceased) and Cheryle Hamilton. Treasured sister-in-law of Mike (Stephanie). Dearest Aunt of Cassidy, Leah, Emma, Alex, Henry and Thomas.
Trisha was born on July 29, 1967 and grew up in Orangeville, Ontario. She attended Brock University for Recreation and Leisure Studies where she honed many skills that she then took to her career in the banking world. Trisha held many managerial positions with multiple banking institutions, for almost 30 years, most recently with The CIBC Trust in downtown Toronto.
Trisha focused much of her time on her family being a “Hockey and Basketball Mom”, but she also loved wandering through malls and markets with her Mom and friends looking for unique and individualized gifts. She cherished her time as a Sunday School Teacher of little ones. Always staying fit; Trisha enjoyed Yoga Retreats, Cross-Fit Classes and weekend hikes with her hubby (as long as they ended with lunch on a patio or ice-cream).
Trisha’s passion for life and her boys was only exceeded by her unwavering empathy and compassion for others. She never missed marking a friend’s or family member’s birthday and always gave the most thoughtful gifts. She invariably put the needs and feelings of others ahead of her own.
We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Dr. Cathy Candusso for her compassion and professionalism. Dr. Ricky Jrearz, Dr. Will Raskin, the entire Oncology Department at the Headwaters Health Care Centre and the Bayshore Nurses for their dedication and thoughtfulness to Trisha’s treatment.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Oncolocy Unit at Headwaters Health Care Centre.
In Trisha’s memory, the family also asks that you put others before self, tell your family and friends that you love them and live today to the fullest.

Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Thursday, September 1st, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, September 2nd, 2022 at 11:00 am.

A tree will be planted in memory of Trisha in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 20th Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
