The extended Hoover family of New Lowell is deeply saddened by the loss of Steve. Our hearts go out to Ruth & her family , Mom Mary, Roger & Sandra.
From our earliest association with the McCabe clan , Steve was a constant. Positive, friendly & engaging....a stand up guy & a gentleman. Happy tmes around the steam show spent swapping a tale or so and always leaning over the fender of a Rumely !
Grampa Murray was some proud of Steve.
While we will all miss him, I'm sure Grampa is looking out for him.
Condolences sent from John & Shirley Hoover, Tim & Jamie Hoover, James & Nancy Hoover, Darcy Hoover & Colin Hoover.
Rest in peace Steven.

Steve was a good buddy and an important part of my life from being teammates on ODSS basketball to canoe trips in Killarney in later years. There was an epic fishing road trip to Bob's mother's lodge on Lac Seul north of Kenora, numerous weekends at Pat and Jim's cottages, countless hangouts in Pete's basement and an epic Grey Cup Party at my place in 76. A dependable friend, it was typical of him that he showed up, on his own accord, at my parent's house the night after a beer fueled fracas to replace the broken front window in the storm door. I last saw Steve at a get together bonfire at the house in Caledon prior to selling it in 2012. Although it had been a few years, it was like no time had passed, a testament to our our friendship.

Like a few others here, we knew Steve in school: Princess Elizabeth (Susan) and ODSS (both Susan and Andrew). We were saddened to hear of his death.
