Schleer, Stefanie (nee Draganesku)
Stefanie Schleer - Died peacefully at Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston surrounded by her beloved daughter and long-time family friends on August 30th, 2022 at the age of 78. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years (Eduard Schleer) and survived and dearly missed by her daughter Caroline. She is predeceased by her parents Eva and Joseph and brother Franz (Dimka). She is survived by her sister Kathe and sister-in-laws Spomenka (Alex Klaic), Violetta and brother-in-law Otto (deceased) along with her many nieces and nephews. Steffie was born in Yugoslavia November 4, 1943, lived in Germany as a young adult and came to Canada along with her husband in 1963 to build their unique dream home in the country where their daughter was born. She was a wonderful homemaker, baker, and cook. She was an incredible hostess. A people person, she enjoyed many laughs with friends and family and was often the life of the party. She loved gardening, knitting, and enjoyed chatting with her sister in Germany. She relished the many local outings with her husband and daughter, especially a nice country drive and a delicious meal. Thank you to the nurses and doctors for their support and kindness. Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
A tree will be planted in memory of Stefanie in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 20th Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
