McKenna, Shirley Elizabeth (nee Brown)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Shirley Elizabeth McKenna (nee Brown) peacefully at Wellington Terrace on Sunday June 18, 2023 at the age of 87, surrounded by many loved ones. Beloved wife of the late George McKenna (2001). Dear mother of Patricia Kimberley and her husband Craig. Predeceased by her daughters Debbie McKenna and Suzan McKenna. Cherished grandmother of Tara, Kevin (Rebecca), Cathy (Trevor), Kayla (TJ), Luke-deceased, Danny and Adam. Great-grandmother of Ashton-deceased, Lillian, William, Bronson and Ryder. Great-great grandmother to Luca. Shirley was loved by her many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by her many friends.

Shirley belonged to many clubs through the years. She was a loyal lifetime member of the Salem Womens Institute, the Royal Canadian Legion and 4H Club. Shirley enjoyed nothing better than afternoons spent watching her daughter Patsy at the local baseball diamonds and spending her evenings relaxing with her beloved Blue Jays and Maple Leaf games on tv.

Funeral Service will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre 21 First St. Orangeville on Friday June 23, 2023 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Orangeville. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Shirley in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 21st Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
