Obituary for Sandra Lee Parke (Shaw)

Parke, Sandra Lee (nee Shaw)
After a lifetime of achievement and generosity, mom has decided to go off on a new adventure.
Born Sandra Lee Shaw to parents Kenneth and Pearl in Toronto in 1936, where Mom's foundation for the love of animals was nurtured. Horses, dogs, cats, birds, all creatures large and small, injured or stray, would be taken care of for the rest of their lives if they came across Mom's path.
Sandra married her prince charming Bill (sadly passed in 2005) in 1957, building a wonderful partnership and raising a family of four. She was loved by Ken (Sheryl sadly passed in 2008), Mike (Krista), Greg (Evelyeen) and Amy.
Grandmother to Bradley (Brittany), Kaleb, Joseph, Jeffrey (Amanda), Melissa, Nicole, Brendan and Alexander. Great Grandmother to Aaron, Mason, Tysen, Lillian and Arabella. Mom's babies were always her greatest treasures.
Mom's passion in life was her family, art and teaching. Teaching at multiple schools in the Dufferin area, she dedicated her life to creating an equal learning environment for all students. She was also a master of patience, if you knew her children you would understand why. When she wasn't teaching or chasing after her kids, she was busy creating beautiful art pieces including stained glass, paintings and sketches of the places she loved.

For the angels living on earth, Dawn and all the nurses, PSW's and support staff at Dufferin Oaks in Shelburne who helped take care of our mother for the past nine years. Mom loved you all and we are indebted to you and your tireless compassion. There are no words to describe what you have meant to our family all these years.

Mom has broken free to soar on her new adventure, we know she will be reuniting with her old Dragon. We can imagine he's been waiting for her.

With Mom's unstoppable spirit in mind, for expressions of sympathy we ask that you love, cherish and hug your loved ones every day. Being present is the greatest gift of all.

We love you Mom.

Spring Interment will be held at Burns Cemetery, Mono Centre.
