With my hand holding my sweetie's, I released her's and took hold of the hand of God on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the age of 76. Husband, Soul Mate and Best Friend of Hope Young (Bell). Dear father of Richard (Alison), Deirdre (Robert), Rob (Aimee), Russell (Natalie), Christopher (Kylie) and Steven. Cherished Papa and Bubba of 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Remembered by his siblings Marn (Larry 2016), Pat (Bob), Brenda (2008), Lorna (Piet), Terry (Kathy). Predeceased by his parents George and Marjorie. Robert will be greatly missed by other relatives, many friends and the line dance community.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Compass Community Church, 246289 Hockley Rd., Mono, on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations to Bethell Hospice Foundation are appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Robert in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
