Syd you were always a gentleman and kind. My pool skills always improved when we visited. Betty is so sad at your passing. You were her favourite uncle. Joan and Syd like salt and pepper. Joan and Lynda please accept our fondest and kindest condolences at this difficult time. Syd will still not have his socks at the same level.
My daughters Emma and Abigail also send their sincerest condolences as does Heather.
Syd you will be sadly missed another hero gone!

Tom and I are so sorry to hear of Syd’s passing. Our deepest condolences to you and Lynda. I know it’s been many many years since we were neighbours but we have some wonderful memories of the Weatherup family. Syd catching the boys putting the garden hose down the dryer vent and many many more. Our thoughts are with you both.
Love Tom and Ann Lambert ♥️

My brothers, our late parents, and I always enjoyed visiting my mother's Irish cousin Joan, her husband Syd and daughter Lynda.
I learned to understand their beautiful Northern Irish and was fascinated by any story about the "the old country" they would tell.
Joan has been a bridge to my Northern Irish ancestry which led to my 1984 visit to Northern Ireland.
Syd was always a welcoming host who shared the stories of his Irish football days, Irish food and drink, and the folklore.
Sydney Weatherup will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and football fans, here and abroad.
