Hamilton, Richard William (Dick)
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Hamilton (Dick) on Sunday October 3, 2021 at the age of 81. He stayed strong until the end and passed away peacefully at the Avalon Care Centre in Orangeville, surrounded by his loving family.

Dick will be missed dearly by his cherished wife of 56 years, Cheryle Hamilton (Bracken). He was a loving and proud Dad of Patrick (Trisha) and Michael (Stephanie) and the best “Goo” ever to his grandsons Connor, Charlie, Henry and Thomas. He was predeceased by his sisters Patricia, Mary Ellen and Marilyn.
“Uncle Dick” will be forever remembered by his sister-in-law Mary Marchildon, brothers-in-law Hugh Bracken, Jean Paul Marchildon and Murray Zulauf, his many nieces and nephews and their families. He will also be sadly missed by other relatives and cherished friends.

Richard was a tireless employee of Eaton’s Canada, House of Hux Furniture, Orangeville Transport and Orangeville Warehousing and Storage. Through his many years as a community minded member of the Orangeville Lions Club, he led many important local projects and this allowed him to make many lifelong friends. Hammy loved his hometown of Milverton, he longed for the “getaways” with the gang, summer holidays at Little Clam Lake and he always led trump. He loved to quote his favourite song…”I am just an old chunk of coal, but I’m gonna be a diamond some day”. Dick is now the shiniest of all diamonds!
