Obituary for Ralph Gordon McMullin

McMullin, Ralph Gordon
Peacefully at Oak Terrace Long Term Care in Orillia, on Tuesday March 2, 2021 at the age of 76.
Predeceased by his parents Alex and Melissa McMullin; brother of Gwen. Dear father of Troy (Diane), Travis (Charlene), Todd (Kathy). Cherished grandfather of Kenny, Emily, Liam, Jack, Avery & Tessa. Ralph will also be missed by a special friend Dawn Draper.
Ralph's passions included his beef farm which he ran since his father's passing in 1975 until his declining health in 2017. Cattle and crops was his life for over 40 years. Although sometimes gruff on the exterior you would often find most of the cows and calves had their own names and catch him petting them.
He also loved Truck and Tractor pulling where he campaigned his Super Stock Dodge Truck dubbed the "Caledon Hauler" for some 30 years. During the Tractor pulling days Ralph made many life long friends by being a true sportsman and a fierce but friendly competitor. Ralph was also a 35 year employee of Northern Telecom where he worked in Quality Control and Process Support.
Ralph had a sweet tooth and would very often spend Sunday afternoons with Dawn and family in the bush at the back of the farm around a campfire with a plate of food and desserts. He always enjoyed a good meal mostly when someone else was cooking it. Ralph was stricken with Alzheimer's disease at age 71 and it very rapidly robbed him of his golden years. Rest in peace Dad... Alzheimer's is gone! Love, Your Boys!

Private Family Service will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville followed by Interment at Caledon East Cemetery. Recorded Service will be available to be viewed after 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 8th.
Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Ralph in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The next annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
