Monica Schmid
Passed peacefully at home on Friday August 19th 2022. Beloved wife for 48 years of predeceased husband Richard. Loving mother of Rick, Marc and Eric. Beloved grandma of Logan and Kirsi.
Monica was born in Switzerland in 1939, she immigrated to Canada on her own in her 20s, after graduating nursing school. She worked as a nurse in many hospitals in the Toronto area and later at the Avalon Retirement Lodge. She has been faithful member of Belfountain Village Church for many decades. Her favourite pastimes were travelling, gardening, creating stained glass artwork and cooking. She was amazing in the kitchen, with many self-made recipes. Her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ sustained her throughout her life and her example of self-sacrifice was remarkable. She was never one to complain and she took all her worries her Saviour. Monica will be greatly missed by her family, church family and friends.

A tree will be planted in memory of Monica in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 20th Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
