Obituary for Mike Foley

Foley, Michael
Peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Michael Foley passed away on Monday April 15th, 2024, at the Southlake Regional Healthcare Centre at the age of 76 years ending a courageous battle with cancer.

Mike selflessly served more than 36 years as a Brampton Fire Fighter, joining the IAFF Local 1068 on September 1, 1970, known as one of the original “Smoke Eaters!” These men had one common goal to save every person and pet; personal safety was secondary. These are some of the bravest men you could ever meet.

With a smile, sense of humor and laugh that lit up every room, our dad’s presence was felt and respected by all.

Mike was a devoted family man first, fondly remembered by his former wife Deborah and cherished by his children Shannon (Brian), Michelle (Mark), Melissa and Adam (Kristina) and 12 grandchildren.

He was born on June 10, 1947, in Cardiff Wales, UK. He was preceded in death by parents Robert and Jean Foley, brothers Robert and Ian Foley and is survived by sister Lisa (Brian).

A tree will be planted in memory of Mike in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 22nd Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
