Peacefully at Matthews Hospice on Thursday September 28th, 2023 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of Lawrence McClelland (1976) and William (Bill) Mackay (1997). Dear mother of Violet Robinson (Peter). Cherished grandmother of Melanie (Sean), Andrew, Nancy (Kurtis), Craig (Melissa). Loving great-grandmother Nora, Gavin, Olivia, Evelyn, Aliyah. Remembered by Wayne Nieforth (Vinnie). Predeceased by Roy Jr Nieforth, Barbara Morrison, Janet Cameron. Mary will also be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the care givers and staff at Matthews Hospice and Shelburne Residence for their compassionate care for Mary (Betty). Betty worked for Bell Canada over 42 years. She was Past President of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 210. Betty was the Poppy campaign chair for many years.
Memorial donations to Matthews Hospice, Alliston would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Mary in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 22nd Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
