Marcuz, Marguerite Shirley (nee Vann)
Marguerite (Margarita) Shirley Marcuz - who loved to be called “Ma” by her children, and grandchildren, departed her loving family on August 2, 2022.
Margarita was born in Leicestershire, England on Sept 8th 1938, to Lucy and Ernest Vann
Ma was mother to Karen Marcuz, Lance Marcuz, and Sherry Kohnen, and mother in law to Andrew Kohnen. Beloved Grandmother to Holly-Jade (Hols), Kurtis, Julian, Dillion (Dill), and Amanda (Manda). Great grandma to Olivia (Livy) Christian (Touchy), Sofia (Baby), and Marcus.
Marguerite saved every penny from an early age. She set off on a great adventure in 1958, leaving her home and coming to Canada by ship. She made friends quickly, and soon began an apprenticeship to become a hairdresser. She provided many regrettable haircuts and perms to her children. Her clients on the other hand, were always very pleased with the results.
Marguerite had a lifelong passion for her cats, having had many over the years.
Marguerite loved everything Spanish, teaching herself to speak the language and could merengue with the best of them. It was then that she preferred to be called “Margarita”.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Auntie to Gary, Debra, and Fay.
Best friend and cherished sister to Audrey Mitchell.

A tree will be planted in memory of Marguerite in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 20th Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
