Edelbrock, Margarete (nee Meier)
Margarete Edelbrock, (nee Meier), born on March 9, 1936, in Hamm, North Rhine-Westphalia (German: Nordrhein-Westfalen) Germany, passed away at age 82 on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in Saugeen Valley Nursing Center, Mount Forest, Ontario. Margarete was the beloved wife of Willy (Wilhelm) of 60 years. She is survived by her children, Elisabeth (Victoria, BC) and Ralph (Madonna House, Combermere); and one sister, Erika Geiling (Hans Dieter), nieces, Martina and Angela and nephew, Stefan. Her parents, Hermann and Margarete (Grete) Meier, are predeceased. Margarete will be sadly missed by numerous relatives and friends. She studied homemaking with the Sisters of the Poor Child Jesus in Godesberg, Germany and was certified as a seamstress in design and tailoring in Hamm. After marriage she emigrated from Germany in 1958 and resided in Orangeville, Ontario. Margarete loved spending time with family, traveling, gardening, handcrafts, especially tapestries, reading and praying. She was very generous to a variety of Catholic and other local charities. The family greatly appreciates the care provided by the staff of the Saugeen Valley Nursing Center. Those who wish may donate in Margarete’s name to St. Timothy Catholic Church, Orangeville, Madonna House, Combermere, Ontario and/or Saugeen Valley Nursing Center Residents Council, Mount Forest, Ontario.

Friends and family can pay their respects at the Visitation at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 42 Dawson Rd., Orangeville on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.

A tree will be planted in memory of Margarete in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
