Obituary for Louisa Douglas (Isherwood)

DOUGLAS, Louisa (nee Isherwood)

It is with great sadness that the family of Louisa announce her passing at Headwaters Health Care Centre on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the age of 91 from Covid-19. Louisa will forever be lovingly remembered by her son Darin Long and daughter-in-law Karen, grandchildren Melissa (Eric) Bauth and Megan (Shane) Sullivan. Louisa loved and adored her great-grandson Damian Sullivan, who always brought the biggest smile to her face and overflowed her heart with love. Louisa was predeceased by her loving husband Rudy (2000). She is survived by her special nieces, Brenda (Bill) Wainwright and Mal (Geoff) Graham of England. Louisa had the most kind, inviting and high-spirited personality, she always made you feel at home whether you just met her or had know her for years; the kettle was always on and she always willing to throw “one more potato in the pot”. She loved her family more than life and always made sure they knew it. The family would like to sincerely thank the Nurses and Doctors at HHCC for their care and compassion. A very special thank you to Nurse ‘Cass’ for giving us the opportunity to say goodbye. Thank you to all the staff at Bethsaida Retirement Home for the wonderful care you provided Mum over the last year. In memory of Louisa donations can be made to HHCC at www.hhcfoundation.com

A tree will be planted in memory of Louisa in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The next annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
