We are all terribly saddened with the passing of Karen. She died suddenly in hospital on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at the age of 71 after surviving a very complex surgery, but later suffered a very serious complication. She is gone from this world but will always be in our hearts. Karen survived the loss of her husband Douglas Varey in 2005, they were married 23 years, and she also lost her second partner of 10 years, Michael Robinson in 2017. Daughter of the late Jessie Naomi, Elizabeth Todd and Albert Thebiert. Surviving siblings Kevin, Nelson, Michael, Ronnie, Robert; and the late Gordon, and only sister Krisann, who passed away February 2020. Loving mother of Carol (Dave) and Cheryl. Grandmother of Ashley, Amanda (Neil) David, Nicole, Joshua. Great-grandmother of Liam, Jayden, Knoah, Logan, Nevaeh, Ethan and Emma.
Karen loved her family, and her dog Bella dearly and was also loved very much. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends, and be remembered as the lady who loved to talk and make people laugh. She was a little woman with a big heart, and there wasn't a day that went by that she didn't ask about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved seeing photos and videos of her family to keep in touch. We only wish we had more time to spend together, and we will all truly miss her witty and positive attitude.

Funeral Service will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. (Face masks or face coverings must be worn at all times in the funeral home - visitor numbers are limited)
A tree will be planted in memory of Karen in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
