Obituary for Karen Christine Nevitt (Bell)

NEVITT, Karen Christine (née Bell) - Born. March 4th, 1945.

Karen Christine Nevitt, best friend and dear wife of Richard Nevitt for 53 years, passed suddenly from aggressive cancer on December 23rd, 2022. She was surrounded by her family and the amazing medical team at Headwaters Health Care Centre (Orangeville) during her final moments. Loving Mom to Jaime and Nadine (Derek Marsham); sister of Graeme Bell (B.J. Bell) and Duane McIlwraith (Tommy McIlwraith); auntie to K.C., Sue, Lynne, Tad and Gavin; Gram to Nathan and Dylan. Loyal and adored friend and teacher to many.

Karen lived fully, gave graciously and filled the room with laughter. She was a lover of fashion, music and the arts. Karen’s happy place was in her garden and that is where her life will be celebrated next spring. Please consider donating to The Karen Nevitt Memorial Scholarship in partnership with the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Headwaters, where she was a member for 19 years. Funds raised will help support students further their education.

A tree will be planted in memory of Karen in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 21st Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
