Obituary for June Elizabeth Armstrong (Armstrong)

Armstrong, June Elizabeth
It is with heavy heart to announce the passing of June Elizabeth Armstrong peacefully at Shelburne Long-term Care. June, daughter of the late William & Hazel (Maeck) Armstrong is survived by her siblings, Lorne, Linda, Valerie, William (Billy), Tom, Laura and her fraternal twin, Jim. In this time of darkness as Covid-19 takes away our brightest lights, June’s sparkle will always be reflected in the heart of her daughter, Amanda. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to many.
June did not walk an easy road as she battled with respiratory, and mental illness but she had a vibrant personality and loving smile that defied her struggles. June loved to tell stories of her past and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her Alice in Wonderland nature made those around her forget their own troubles and enable them to see the beauty of the world.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
The family would appreciate donations made in June’s honor to the Salvation Army to help those in need of food and shelter during this pandemic.
May our hearts be forever filled with your memories.

A tree will be planted in memory of June in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
