Peacefully at home on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the age of 89. Born in Montreal on March 15, 1930 to Wasyl and Eufrosina Hryniuk. Beloved husband of the late Edith Lorraine Maude. Loving father of Paul (Ingrid), Kimberley (Bill), John Jr., and the late Thomas. Cherished grandfather of Jason, Kaatje, Thomas, Alison, Jamie, Jeffery, Claire, and Will. Predeceased by his brothers Bill and Peter and sister Mary. John will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
John served as the Head Professional at the Brampton Golf Club and is well known for his excellent play as a tournament professional. His warm, calm demeanor and guidance encouraged many to embrace the game of golf.
In honour of John’s wishes, a celebration of life will take place in early spring at a Golf Course to be decided upon at a later date. The family extends deep gratitude to all who have reached out to express condolences. We will miss your warm smile, John.
A tree will be planted in memory of John in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
