I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of John. John was the first person to teach me about the game of golf. He was a true gentleman and an excellent professional. More than that, John was a kind and genuine good soul. I will miss our games at Woodington, but more than that, i will miss the chats over lunch that we had after our rounds. Its there that John gave me some valuable life lessons. I will miss you John. You were my friend. Until we meet again may your memory be eternal.
To the family and friends that he leaves behind, my heartfelt condolences.

I met John at Tip of the Tee driving range. I was a young pro teaching looking to compete on some tournaments. John helped me out with my swing, course strategy, and most of all life strategy.... always with positive encouragement. Had the rare ability to say a lot in very few words. Great guy!! RIP John.

John gave me lessons at Spring Lakes Golf Club in Stouffville where I am still a member, during the early 90's when he was our pro. I still remember his advice to this day and I loved hearing about his time on the PGA Tour which was still in its infancy when he played on it in the 50's. I will remember his kind, pleasant and heartfelt manner fondly.

We are very saddened to hear of the passing of John (Pro). He was the ultimate "old school" golf professional. He taught me so much & I will forever be grateful. He loved the game and gave so much back to golf in Ontario & Canada.
He will always be remembered. Our deepest sympathies to the entire family.
