Peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Centre on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of 65 years to Doris Jean Handy. Dear father of Heather Speers (Randy), Holly Drysdale (Doug) and Hugh Handy (Christine). Cherished grandfather of Melissa (Daniel), Jason (Bess), Matthew (Mary), Jacqueline (Alex), Joshua (Sarah) and Sabrina. Great-grandfather of Willow. Predeceased by his brother Benjamin. John will also be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment-Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations to Tweedsmuir Presbyterian Church, Diabetes Association, Headwaters Health Care Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of John in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
