Peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 30th, 2023 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Hilda Cartwright. Dear father of Warren (Justine), Lisa and Shawn (Leanne). Cherished Popa of Mackenzie, Lane, Alex and Ethan. Remembered by his siblings Brian-deceased (Ann), Gail, Jim, David (Linda), Rick, Robyn (Dave), Debby (Art), Bob (Heather), Rita, Rosie, Dorothy (Don), Stephen (Christine) and Tracy (Tom). John will also be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Wednesday, February 1st, 2023 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, February 2nd, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The family would like to thank all of our family and friends that have made this journey so much easier. Your love and support has made all the difference. We would also like to thank all of the caregivers that have helped us through this difficult time. This includes Dr. Derksen, the nurses and doctors at Southlake Hospital, as well as nurse Annie and the team from Spectrum Health Care. Memorial donations to Knox United Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of John in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 21st Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
