It is with great sadness that we note the peaceful passing of Jim Bunyan at Headwaters Health Care Centre on May 26, 2021 at the age of 78.
A newcomer to Orangeville, formerly living in Port McNicoll, ON, Jim was born in New Cumnock, Scotland to Margaret (Wylie) & Thomas Bunyan. A former police officer and development officer in construction, Jim came to Canada as a young husband and made a loving home for his family. He loved nature, history, science (was never tired watching the stars) & he was an avid reader and painter. He was always curious about the world and everything in it. He will be missed greatly by his loving wife and soul mate of 56 years, Jean, his children Eileen and Stephen, his son-in-law Mike, his sister Moira, niece and nephews, cousin David & other friends and family in both Canada and Scotland. Predeceased by his beloved dogs Prince Thor.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. A tree will be planted in his memory in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
