I was saddened to hear of Herman’s passing. My sincerest condolences to his family and many friends. I new Herman only for a short time through Paul in son, my neighbour and my friend. Herman was most kind and generous to me always willing to share a good story about Go Home Lake and the Hearst Hunt Camp. I can’t help but remember all the pranks they played on one another as friends at the Camp.

To the family, may you seek God’s grace and comfort in your time of need while you reflect on the many fine memories of your beloved Herman.

Very sad news; Herman has always treated me with such great kindness and generosity since I was a kid. I often think of so many of the memories that I have had with him and the family. The world will be a much better place if there were more people like him. I have such a sad and heavy heart after hearing this news but if it's any consolation; this man I will never forget.

Our memory of Herman can only be that of extended family. He helped us grow to be what we are today. Friendship and good cheer always, especially summers at the cottage and ringing in the new year in Orangeville where there was always a chair, kindness and good conversation.
