Obituary for Harold William Cavey

After road tripping-one of his favourite pastimes, with his daughter Debbie & Son Shawn to the Markdale Hospital late Monday afternoon, January 23, Papa (Harry) Cavey peacefully drifted off to be with Nanny (Vivian)
Harry was a well-seasoned 89 years young and still sassing his grandson's at every opportunity.
He created a life in Canada after living an adventurous youth on the Island of Jersey in the Channel Islands. He leaves behind his favorite sister Julie Bougourd and all the amazing Jersey crew.
He came to Canada on a flip of a coin and built his life and family here. He is survived by his son Shawn Cavey (AJ), his grandsons Cooper & Porter (Taylor), his daughter Debbie Harrison (Dave), his grandchildren Kathleen and Jeff (great-granddaughter Hannah), Matthew, Kristin and (great-granddaughter Liv), daughter Bonnie Bonacorso (Mike), his grandchildren Jody (great granddaughter Kayden), Adam & Leslie (and great granddaughter Emily) and granddaughters Madison Foster Delahunt and Kenny and great grandsons Dakota & Grayson and granddaughter Randilynn Foster and Tom (great granddaughter Olivia). He is joining his sons Gary Love, Randy Foster and his brothers Ken & John in spirit.

We invite you to join us for a celebration of Papa/Harry on February 19, 2023, at the Shelburne Legion-Warrior’s Hall (upstairs) from 4:00-whenever.
We would like to honour him with the things he loved the most, so we request that everyone wear their favourite sports team jersey-he loved almost every sport! Bring any stories you have and hold in your heart & we will toast him & share a laugh.
Eulogy will be at 5 & everyone is more than welcome to speak & share.
Donations can be made in his honour at either the Alzheimer’s Society or SPCA.
